Our Boarding House
The boarding house at Nobel Algarve has a spectaular location on the cliffs above the seaside town of Armação de Pêra, a 10-minute drive from the Lagoa main school campus. Private bus shuttles operated by the school transfer students and their resident tutors to and from the boarding house.
At any time, up to 60 students, male and female, live in this former hotel which has been converted into a boarding house and divided in two sections – one for boys and one for girls. Students are welcome to bring home comforts with them to decorate their rooms with their own posters and soft furnishings. Many of our boarders spend six years with us and so this is home from home.
All students have access to a shared study room which enjoys views out to the sea and nearby town. For leisure time there is a large recreation room with sofas, bean bags, games and large screen TV. Students also have access to ICT facilities, a swimming pool, basketball court, and to lush and well presented gardens. Students also enjoy private access to the beach, which offers sporting and relaxation activities under the supervision of a member of the boarding staff.
Boarders are provided with three hot meals a day, as well as mid-morning and mid-afternoon snacks. The school’s tuck-shop is open from 09:00 to 17:00 and students can walk to an outdoor weekly market for fresh produce, restaurants and cafés, as well as hotels and resorts, which provide accommodation for visiting parents/guardians.
The boarding staff team plan activities for evenings and weekends, taking advantage of sport and recreational facilities on the main campus as well as nearby cultural and recreational attractions, such as the cinema, shopping centres, adventure and water parks, and museums.
