Nobel International School Algarve Lagos Campus for Early Years and Primary Students

Nobel International School Algarve Lagos, close to Espiche, is a small, growing Pre-School and Primary School that welcomes pupils from Early Years to Year 6 (three to 10 years of age). Children at the school have two years of bi-lingual education in English and Portuguese in the Early Years room and then a traditional British Primary School education, following the English National Curriculum in the morning and lessons in Portuguese in the afternoons. The Lagos school is part of the Nobel International School Algarve group and children benefit from specialist PE and Music teachers and first class Primary School sports and play facilities.

Currently the school has just over 50 children, who are educated in four mixed-year classes. Pre Reception Reception are taught by a full time teacher and Portuguese Teaching Assistant, where play is central to the curriculum. The classroom reflects this, with a role-play area, toys and mini kitchen.

The school has a village primary school feel to it, with a very close-knit,  active and supportive parent body which organises events such as the popular annual Fireworks Night or Christmas Bonanza, and who volunteer at the school for activities that enhance children´s learning – eg with reading or yoga. Outdoor play in the attractive orchard or shaded playground offers children the chance to run, let off steam and to mix with children outside their own class and it is during play time that children also have the opportunity to speak in English, Portuguese or their native language.

We welcome visits to our Bi-Lingual Primary School in Lagos. Please contact admissions@nobelalgarve.com to arrange an appointment to meet Headmistress Judy Robinson and to have a tour of this very special and unique school.
